ABOUT NICOLA

Nicola Wood is an NMC registered nurse with 25+ years experience across healthcare, schools and first aid training. Every course is delivered with calm professionalism, practical insight and a focus on real confidence.

NHS and Specialist Clinical Background
Nicola spent 13 years at University College London Hospital (UCLH) including specialist clinical research within the haematology field. This gave her extensive experience in professional healthcare environments, patient care and calm decision-making under pressure.

10 Years Supporting Children and Young People
For the last 10 years, Nicola has worked in school nursing, supporting children and young people across Essex and Hertfordshire. She is currently a school nurse at a boarding school for 3-18 year olds, helping provide healthcare support within a busy school environment. She holds an enhanced DBS.

Experienced First Aid Trainer Since 2018
Since 2018, Nicola has been teaching first aid to adults, staff teams, and pupils from as young as 4 years old, sports clubs and community groups. Her sessions are practical, engaging and designed to build genuine confidence.

Sport, Safeguarding and Community Experience
Alongside her professional roles, Nicola is a Trustee and Safeguarding Lead for Red Kite, a specialist rape and sexual abuse support service. Nicola also volunteers at Rob Roy Rowing Club, where she provides rowing-specific first aid training.

Nicola promotes clear teaching, real confidence and practical skills people can rely on when it matters most.
